High Voltage Topples Cosgrove

Image
New Lenox, IL - High Voltage squared off against Cosgrove on Tuesday night in round one of the playoffs.  The game was slow to get going as neither team could score a run in the first two innings.  The Volts held Cosgrove to a third scoreless inning before the offense finally woke up with a six spot fueled by six hits and two walks.  Cosgrove cut the lead to 6-1 with a run in the fourth inning but the Volts all but sealed the deal with an eight run barrage to take a decisive 14-1 lead.  Cosgrove needed to score four runs to keep the game alive but could only muster a single run to fall short to the Volts by a score of 14-2.  Cosgrove had its share of chances with seven hits and three walks strung out in the five innings but could not deliver a big hit to do any damage.  High Voltage ended the game with 15 hits and six bases on balls.  Three of the walks came in the first inning when the Volts loaded the bases but failed to score. That's a Wrap

New Lenox, IL - The last Tuesday night regular season game at the Lions Den pitted High Voltage against Paradise Bay.  These teams have had some good matches in the past, but yesterday was not one of them.  Bay came out swinging and took a 4-3 lead after an inning, and tacked on five more runs in the second while the Volts could not keep up.  Leading 9-5 after two innings, Bay packed on seven more to take a commanding 16-5 lead that would ultimately see the teams flip batting order as the Volts were hopelessly chasing.  Volts did keep the game alive with a Sutes homerun but were unable to cut into the Bay deficit.  After trading a scoreless inning, Bay scored a run in the 6th inning to move up bedtime by 10 minutes with an 18 - 8 run rule victory.  Bay players didn't stick around for comment as there was rumor of an all you can eat buffet ending soon at the sponsor.  The loss brings the Volts regular season record to 8-2, good enough for 2nd pl...

High Voltage Defeat Rendels???

Image
New Lenox, IL - High Voltage took on Rendels on a steamy Tuesday evening.  All we can tell you by the game account from Nurse Ratched is that it was quick and High Voltage won the contest.  Next week is the final regular season game ever at the Lions Den when High Voltage take on Paradise Bay in the finale at 9:30 PM.  Anyone bringing power tools to the game can take apart things and bring them home as souvenirs. Notables: Game 7/15   Bottom of the first and the Schoenhofen’s are already dropping the ball.. young Jeff attempted to be cool at second and toss the ball behind his back, unfortunately letting Ronald McDonald score.    Seriously…. Who chose their uniforms       A large man hoping to appear as a jack-o-lantern is his fluorescent orange is attempting to fill in for the wonderful and famous Mr. Koz on the books. Just a heads up Ken… repeating the same thing 12 times in a row doesn’t make it any more true… just more anno...
