The Scrappers 20 Gnaturals 10

New Lenox, IL - It was business as usual for the Gnaturals in 2021, take a big run early and not score again.  The Gnats built a 9-0 lead heading into the bottom of the second inning and promptly gave up 10 runs.  The Gnaturals pushed their final run of the evening home in the top of the third inning to tie the game at 10 while The Scrappers added two runs in their half of the 3rd, three runs in the 4th, and five in the bottom of the 5th to end the game mercifully 20-10.  The Gnaturals hope to avoid hitting the "rewind and play" buttons on October 5th vs The Brew Jays.  Game time is set for 9:30 PM.

Notables:

Squintso!!! - Wade II made his 2nd lifetime appearance at the catcher's position with a different outcome than the Hollywood finish of his debut.

Leave em on a high note - Wade II should have retired after the Hollywood ending as it wouldn't get much better than that with the final putout of the game.

Wheels - Whitehouse led off for the Gnaturals.  He rewarded Koz the lineup maker with hits in his first two at-bats.

What's so hard about that? - Pratl played 3rd base and quickly deposited both warmup balls in the home dugout.

Pudly Homerun I - Koz hit a solo shot in the top of the second inning.

Will the Real Wade Please Stand Up - The real Wade played in tonight's game.

Pudly Homerun II - Not to be outdone, Zlogar hit his first lifetime homerun that counts, of course, with nobody on base.  Wah wah wah wah.

Packing Leather - Wild Bill made quite the stab at 2nd base in the second inning to rob a would be The Scrapper base hit.

Unpack The Leather - Wild Bill not so hot on pop outs as he got twisted around and allowed a wind-aided ball to land for a The Scrapper hit in the same inning.

Translation - Someone yelled to Squintso aka Wade II "You're on deck".  Stapes intervened "That means you are batting next".

New "Two" This Experience - The Gnaturals hit two homeruns for outs in the third inning.

Ken Who? - Pratl played a fine 3rd base against The Scrappers.  He even got the call on a ball that failed to nab the runner by a step but the solo ump missed badly and called the runner out.

59 - The amount of runs scored in 2021 Fall League by The Gnaturals, thus making them the lowest scoring team in the league.

76 - Runs given up by The Gnaturals, making them 5th in the league for the lowest amount of runs given up.

Zero - The amount of edits this post was given.
