 New Lenox, IL - The first game of the season was on August 16th but the official start of the Fall Campaign occurred weeks earlier as the Gnaturals met for a couple of Tuesday batting sessions in between seasons.  This reporter is seen tossing BP to Stapes while a rando is walking past the bleachers.  We are all glad that a crime was not committed in the background or Gnats would have been eliminated one by one like it were a late night gathering by the local moms carrying Skin So Soft Off.  The season started with a win against the Deacons in a shortened game.  The following week was a pasting of the gritty Scrappers in quick fashion.  The Scrappers are a slightly above .500 team who some how have a field of four leaf clovers.  Just as in golf when you burn up your "Tree Magic" for the day, these guys likely have burned theirs going forward unless Mozzarella or one of the boys gets transferred and meets younger, more talented office friends.  W...

  New Lenox, IL - The Fall 2022 season came to a slow ending on Tuesday night at the Lions Den as the Gnaturals fell to Ivy League 14-9 in the second round of the playoffs.  The game started out promising as Ivy League went down 1-2-3 after D Foster robbed the leadoff hitter of extra bases by making a sensational over the shoulder catch.  Two pop outs later, the Gnats came to the plate and scored three runs to lead 3-0 after one frame. Ivy put up two runs of their own while holding the Gnats scoreless for only the second time this year in the second inning.  The opponent that previously held the Gnats scoreless in the 2nd inning was, you guessed it, Ivy League in the week 7 match. Ivy ran out of home runs three batters into the second go-around of the line up and tacked on four more runs while the Gnats pushed across only one run to lead 6-4 after three innings.
